Biography: 

Rachel Rudinger is an assistant professor of computer science with an appointment in the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies.

Her research focuses on problems in natural language understanding, including knowledge acquisition, commonsense reasoning, and semantic representation. Rudinger is also interested in problems of bias and fairness in natural language processing (NLP), in particular how commonsense reasoning can both lead to and help overcome social overgeneralization in NLP systems.
