Ramani Duraiswami (standing in photo on left), a professor of computer science with an appointment in UMIACS, and Amitabh Varshney, a professor of computer science and director of UMIACS, were featured in an article in the Chronicle of Higher Education that highlighted their work in 3-D audio and virtual reality, respectively.

Duraiswami and Varshney both presented their research, and were joined by Jandelyn Plane, a senior lecturer in computer science and director of the Maryland Center for Women in Computing, and Dr. Sarah Murthi, a trauma surgeon at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
